Deleting your data

How to delete your data

The short version: you can disconnect a social account yourself at any time and everything we hold for it is erased. For your whole account, email or call and we'll delete it. Either way you get confirmation that it's done — not a promise that it will be.

It's your business's data. Leaving should be as easy as arriving.

Three ways to do it

  1. 1

    Disconnect one social account

In Deep Current, open Social Management → Connected accounts and press Disconnect on the account you want removed. That deletes the stored access token, the account's profile details, and the posts and scheduling we held for it. It takes effect immediately and you don't need to ask us.

  2. 2

Remove us from the platform's own settings

You can also revoke Deep Current from the platform directly — on Facebook that's Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations, and the other platforms have the same thing under apps or connected services. When you do, the platform tells us, and we delete that account's data on our side without you doing anything else.

  3. 3

    Delete the whole account

Email or call us and say you want your account deleted. We'll confirm it's you, then erase your account details, your site content, your connected accounts, and your customers' enquiries and orders. Anything we're legally required to keep for billing records stays, and we'll tell you exactly what that is.

What happens after you ask

  1. 1

    We confirm it's really you

For a whole-account deletion we check you're the account holder first. Nobody gets to delete someone else's business by sending us an email.

  2. 2

    It's deleted within 30 days

Usually the same day. Thirty days is the outside limit, and it exists because backups roll on a cycle — data can sit in an encrypted backup for a short time after it's gone from the live system, and then that backup expires too.

  3. 3

    You get a confirmation

We write back and tell you it's done, and what — if anything — we had to keep. When a platform like Facebook sends us the request on your behalf, we answer it with a tracking code and a status link so you can check it yourself.

One thing we can't do for you: deleting your Deep Current data doesn't delete the posts already published to your own Facebook, Instagram or Google profile. Those live on your accounts and only you can remove them.

Ask us directly

To request deletion, or to ask what we hold about you first, email or call. Put “Delete my data” in the subject line and we'll know what it's about.
