Move your website

Bring your website over from wherever it is now

Every page copied across, looking exactly as it does today — minus the extra code a website builder leaves behind. Then you change it yourself, any time, just by asking.

We’ll move it for you, free. The move costs nothing. To put the new site live on your own domain you pick a plan — from $29 a month, no contract.

What happens

Five steps. You only do two of them

  1. You send us the address

That's it. No logins to hand over for the copy, no files to export.

  2. We copy every page

Words, pictures, fonts, menus and the phone layout — every page your site links to.

  3. We tidy it

Code no page uses comes out. Oversized pictures are re-saved smaller. Nothing you can see changes.

  4. We check it side by side

Every page is compared with the original at desktop and phone width before you see it.

  5. You switch when you're ready

Look it over on a preview address. Your old site stays up until you say go.

A real move

A 12-page insurance agency site, before and after

Built on a popular website builder, moved into Deep Current. Same pages, same look. This is how much code the browser no longer has to download, across all twelve pages.

Page code

1,855 KB → 717 KB · 61% lighter

Style code

3,180 KB → 784 KB · 75% lighter

And it still looks the same. Side by side with the original, at desktop and at phone width, the pages we compared scored identical.

One site's result, not a promise for every site. How much comes off depends on how the old site was built — we'll tell you what we found in yours. Why builder sites carry so much extra code.

What “tidy” means

We take out what no page uses, and leave everything that shows

  • Style rules nothing uses. Each one is tested against every page, at desktop and phone width, before it goes.
  • The builder's own leftovers. Its scripts, its hidden notes and the empty boxes it wraps around everything.
  • Pictures, re-saved smaller. Modern formats, sized for the screen — only where the result looks identical.
  • Pictures further down wait their turn. They load as a visitor scrolls to them, so the first screen arrives sooner.
  • Contact forms reconnected. Messages land in your Deep Current inbox instead of the old builder's.

Nothing breaks on the way

Some things stay exactly where they are, and we link to them

Anything that takes money, takes bookings or checks a password keeps running on the service it runs on today. The new site points visitors straight to it, so customers never notice the move.

Your shop

Products, checkout and orders carry on where they are. Your new pages link to the shop exactly as the old ones did.

Your bookings

A live booking calendar changes by the hour, so it stays with the system that runs it. The “Book now” buttons still go to it.

Member logins

Customer accounts and members-only pages stay put, passwords and all. We link to the sign-in from the new site.

Your old site stays up until you switch. We build the copy on a preview address. Nothing about your live site changes until you're happy and the domain is pointed at the new one — and the domain stays yours throughout.

For agencies

Moving your clients' sites over yourself

The same copy-and-tidy tool is in the agency dashboard. Type the client's address and it shows you the page count and the total before anything runs. The copy goes into your own hosting account, and the client edits it like any other Deep Current site.

50¢a page, once

It's being switched on agency by agency — ask and we'll turn it on for yours. Would rather we did it? We’ll move your clients’ sites for you, free — just get in touch.

Questions people ask

Before you move

Will moving hurt where I show up on Google?

Every page keeps its address, its words, its headings and its pictures, so the pages Google already knows are still there. A lighter page helps with loading speed, which is one of the things Google looks at — but Google always puts the most relevant page first, so speed on its own won't lift you up the list. How Google weighs speed.

What does it cost?

The move costs nothing. To put the new site live on your own domain you pick a plan — from $29 a month, no contract. Agencies moving client sites themselves pay 50¢ a page, shown before the copy starts.

How long does it take?

For a small site, the copying takes minutes, not days. Checking every page side by side takes a little longer, and you see nothing until that's done.

Do I need to do anything technical?

No. When you're happy with the preview, one setting changes where your domain is registered so it points at the new site. We'll walk you through it, or do it with you.

Can I change the site after it moves?

Yes — that's the point. Every page lands in Deep Current, so you change words and pictures by asking for it in plain English. How changing your site works.

Which platforms can you move from?

If a visitor can open it in a browser, we can copy it — whichever builder or system it was made with. The only parts we leave where they are are the ones above: shops, live bookings and member logins.
